Head-on motorbike crash kills at least 3 people in northern Vietnam

At least three people were killed and three others were badly injured in a frontal collision between two motorcycles in Ha Giang Province, northern Vietnam on Friday evening.

The fatal crash took place at around 7:20 pm on the National Highway 2 section passing through Viet Quang Town, Bac Quang District.

The identity of the two motorcyclists remains unknown, authorities said.

Among the three deceased, two were confirmed dead on the spot, identified as T.V.P., 23 and N.V.B., 13, both residing in Ha Giang, while the remainder died after being hospitalized.

Three other victims suffered multiple injuries and are receiving emergency treatment at a local general hospital, according to a report from the Department of Traffic Police, under the Ministry of Public Security.

The road section where the accident occurred is straight, measures nine meters wide and is fully equipped with road markings and traffic signs, according to Road Management Office I.4 under the Department for Roads of Vietnam.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fatal accident.
