A 35-year-old man committed suicide after setting his house on fire with gasoline, killing his one-month-old child and injuring his wife, mother-in-law, and three-year-old child in Ninh Thuan Province, south-central Vietnam on Sunday evening, the local authorities reported on Monday.
At about 10:30 pm on Sunday, L.X.H. in Ca Na Commune, Thuan Nam District, Ninh Thuan Province set fire to a bedroom of his house due to a family conflict, according to the administration in Ca Na Commune.
The fire killed his one-month-old child named Q..
The injured included his three-year-old child L.N.T.N., his 33-year-old wife N.T.H., and his 51-year-old mother-in-law N.T.M..
His three-year-old child is undergoing treatment at the Ninh Thuan General Hospital, while his wife and mother-in-law have been transferred to Ho Chi Minh City.
H. committed suicide and was rushed to hospital but died later.
Dinh Van Hoa, vice chairman of the People’s Committee of Thuan Nam District, said the district had asked Ca Na Commune to visit and encourage the family of victims.
