Roads submerged by rainwater in Vietnam’s Binh Duong

Authorities in Binh Duong Province, southern Vietnam, are coping with the aftermath of flooding triggered by heavy rainfall on multiple streets across Thuan An City.
Many parts of An Thanh Ward, Vinh Phu Ward, An Son Commune were still inundated at 11:00 am on Monday, with the affected areas mostly located near the Saigon River.
Some residents were forced to use boats to evacuate their houses due to flooding.
Two iron bridges in the city collapsed and were swept away by floodwaters.
T., a local resident in An Thanh Ward, said the floodwaters surged and left her house submerged by over one meter, taking a heavy toll on her household appliances.
A Thuan An City leader told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that authorities have adopted measures to protect vulnerable areas since it began raining heavily on Sunday night.
Representatives of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Thuan An administration visited flooded locations and the collapsed bridges to cope with the aftermath on Monday morning.
In Thu Dau Mot City under Binh Duong, the Sunday night downpour also flooded several streets but the rainwater gradually receded.
