Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City Enrico Padula and President of the Consular Club in Ho Chi Minh City Milena Padula paid a visit to the headquarters of Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Wednesday.
During the visit, Consul General Padula shared his habit of reading Tuoi Tre daily.
The diplomat affirmed that Tuoi Tre is a vibrant newspaper with diverse sections, reporting on various events in an engaging manner.
Notably, Consul General Padula expressed his appreciation for Tuoi Tre's education section.
He noted that Italian media rarely cover this topic, highlighting Vietnam's broad and profound interest in this field.
In his role as the consul general, Padula emphasized his responsibility in fostering higher education connections between Ho Chi Minh City and various regions in Italy, aiming to attract more Vietnamese students to study in his country.
He highlighted three factors that make Italy an attractive destination for study.
First, Italy boasts high educational standards with numerous English-taught programs.
Second, despite the high quality of education, Italy offers reasonably priced tuition compared to other European countries.
Last, students in Italy experience a culturally rich environment with beautiful architecture.
Italy has excelled in training fields such as architecture, engineering, economics, and healthcare, with a recent surge in Vietnamese students pursuing fashion-related courses.
Milena Padula, the wife of Consul General Padula and President of the Consular Club in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed her admiration for the traditional Vietnamese ao dai.

She considers ao dai the most elegant traditional clothing, in contrast to Italy's lack of traditional attire.
Aside from the ao dai, Padula shared her passion for Vietnamese cuisine, particularly its abundant use of fresh vegetables.
She praised Vietnamese cuisine for its unique characteristics, comparable to other globally renowned culinary traditions such as Japanese cuisine.
Furthermore, Vietnam's serene countryside is a point of appeal for Italians, with Ninh Binh and Ha Long Bay being two particularly impressive locations.
Tuoi Tre's Deputy Editor-in-Chief Le Xuan Trung expressed gratitude to Consul General Padula for his interest in the newspaper and extended his best wishes for the philanthropic activities led by Milena Padula.
Looking ahead, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Italian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City (September 2014 - September 2024), Trung proposed that Tuoi Tre and the Consulate General jointly organize events to celebrate Italian culture and promote cultural exchange between Vietnam and Italy.
