Ho Chi Minh City’s water supplier Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco) has announced that water supply will be interrupted in 41 wards this weekend due to maintenance.

The maintenance of the Thu Duc 3 Water Plant electrical system, along with the inspection and troubleshooting of valves at the Binh Loi Bridge, will take place between 10:00 pm on Saturday and 3:00 am on Sunday, the company said.

This will result in a water disruption across Wards  5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 25, 26, 27, 28 in Binh Thanh District and Wards 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 17 in Go Vap District. 

The disturbance is expected to affect An Phu Dong and Thanh Loc Wards in District 12, as well as Wards 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Tan Binh District. 

In Thu Duc City, water outages and low water pressure are scheduled for Binh Chieu, Binh Tho, Hiep Binh Chanh, Hiep Binh Phuoc, Linh Chieu, Linh Dong, Linh Tay, Tam Binh, and Tam Phu Wards during the same period.

Sawaco has cautioned that following the expected five-hour disruption, the recovery of water in the supply network in locations more distant from the source may be slower than initially anticipated.

The firm said it has instructed its affiliated units to adjust the water supply network to minimize any inconvenience in the affected areas.

Simultaneously, it will increase water supply activities through tank trucks to key locations.
