Dozens of fire fighters and rescuers saved a young man from a narrow gap between two houses in District 4, Ho Chi Minh City in the early hours of Wednesday morning, a representative of the municipal fire and rescue department said the same day.
The department received news about the incident at 10:35 pm on Tuesday and immediately sent rescuers to the scene.
It took rescuers several hours to save the victim, who was injured and short of oxygen.
Rescuers used many specialized tools, including a hydraulic cutting machine, a rope, and an iron ladder, to approach and rescue the victim.
At about 2:00 am, rescuers used hammers and crowbars to dismantle part of the houses’ walls to remove the victim from where he was trapped They also continuously pumped oxygen into the gap.
Relevant agencies are still investigating how the man fell into the gap between the two houses.
