-- Rain is expected from northern provinces to Binh Thuan Province on Wednesday, while the south and Central Highlands may experience sunny weather, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

-- Residents of Cam Son and Cam Thinh Communes in Cam Xuyen District, along with some households in Ky Anh District, Ha Tinh Province, north-central Vietnam, have reported that the construction of the North-South expressway project has caused cracks in their homes and surrounding structures. They are hoping to receive compensation soon for repairs.

-- The authorities of Phu Quoc City, located off the coast of Kien Giang Province in southern Vietnam, have stated that they are making every effort to address the recurring issue of homeless individuals and beggars in public areas, which is negatively impacting the image of local tourism.

-- Tran Minh Chien, chairman of the Nha Trang City People’s Committee in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam, stated on Tuesday evening that the committee had decided to impose an administrative fine of VND96.5 million (US$3,781) on a restaurant owner for overcharging Chinese customers.

-- Approximately 22,000 to 30,000 children are born each year in Vietnam with congenital malformations, according to data from Hung Vuong Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. The most common conditions include Down syndrome, Edwards syndrome, neural tube defects, congenital hypothyroidism, G6PD deficiency, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, severe congenital hemolytic anemia, and other genetic disorders and congenital anomalies.

-- A delegation from Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security is attending the main discussion session of the fourth Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety in Morocco from Tuesday to Thursday. They are there at the invitation of the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Transport and Logistics of the Kingdom of Morocco to share experience in reducing traffic accidents.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has directed departments and agencies to implement various measures to expand the network of electric vehicle charging stations, in line with the government’s policy to promote EVs, green transportation, and reduce environmental pollution.

-- Vietnam was the fastest-growing food delivery market in Southeast Asia in 2024, with a growth rate of 26 percent, according to the latest report released by Momentum Works, a Singapore-headquartered venture builder and insights research firm.

-- Southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province and global logistics leader DP World signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday to conduct discussion on cooperation in establishing Vietnam’s first free trade zone in the vicinity of Cai Mep Ha seaport.

-- Alcoholic beverage consumption in Vietnam is projected to rise nearly 50 percent, from 4.3 billion liters to 6.5 billion liters by 2028, the highest growth rate among the 10 largest markets in Asia. This was announced by the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association at a press conference on Tuesday for Drinktec 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industry, which will be held from September 15 to 19 in Munich, Germany.

-- Starting Tuesday, goods valued under VND1 million ($39.18) are subject to value-added tax when being imported into Vietnam via express delivery services, in accordance with a recent decision by the prime minister.
