Dwellers in Ho Chi Minh City have experienced poor air quality with various locations exceeding permissible limits for air pollutants, according to the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
The department announced data recorded at monitoring stations citywide between December 11 and 17, saying that the concentration of fine particles such as PM10 and PM2.5 surpassed the allowed levels.
Similarly, the city saw the concentration of flying dust, nitrogen dioxide, and the noise level higher than the acceptable limits at 9.52 percent, 0.43 percent, and 99.13 percent, respectively, with busy traffic activities to blame, the department said.
The city was covered in smog on Friday morning after several rounds of showers on Thursday afternoon resulted in high humidity, the department explained.
