The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has announced plans to initiate a pilot program for installing free Wi-Fi on all public bus routes, aiming to meet the connectivity needs of the public.

To execute this initiative, the Ho Chi Minh City Transport Cooperative Union will collaborate with communications companies to equip buses with Wi-Fi transceiver devices, which could also serve as platforms for advertising services.

Prior tests on select routes received positive feedback from passengers.

Currently, the city boasts over 3,000 public buses operating on 270 routes.
