A pet pig-tailed macaque broke loose and bit a waitress at a coffee shop in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City while she was serving drinks to customers on Monday.
Rangers in the city teamed up with police in An Phu Dong Ward in the district to capture the aggressive monkey on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as T.T.A.T., 20, who works at a coffee shop on Vuon Lai Street in the ward.
T. told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that while she was carrying a tray of coffee cups to a table on Monday morning, the monkey attacked her.
It bit her right leg and hands.
Due to the bites, she quickly got vaccination.

“I hope rangers and police officers will swiftly capture the macaque and release it into the wildlife,” said a local.
An official from the An Phu Dong Ward People’s Committee said that the monkey is raised as a pet by a nearby family.
After being notified of the attack, rangers in the city promptly approached the scene to catch the animal.
