The administration in Long Thanh District, Dong Nai Province, a neighbor of Ho Chi Minh City, has fined a company VND130 million (US$5,275.2) for constructing a building project on over 8,000 square meters without any license.
The district imposed the fine on Kingfa Science & Technology Vietnam Co. Ltd. for developing the project in the Long Thanh Hi-Tech Industrial Park.
The company was also forced to suspend the project pending the approval of a formal construction license.
On January 8, authorities in Long Thanh District inspected the construction site of the project, where Kingfa was developing a factory and a waste-to-energy facility.

After the district issued a decision to levy the fine on the firm on January 24, the company paid the fine but kept constructing the project.
It did not completely suspend the construction until the district checked its compliance with the decision on Friday last week.
The investor is completing procedures to obtain the construction license while asking for support from relevant agencies.
