Ho Chi Minh City’s water supplier Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco) has just announced a water outage for this weekend in different districts in the west and northwest of the city to facilitate repairs at two pumping stations.

From 10:00 pm on Saturday to 4:00 am on Sunday, Sawaco will temporarily cease pumping raw water at the Hoa Phu pumping station and the pumping station at Tan Hiep Water Plant for routine maintenance and repair. 

This will result in a water outage and weakened water supply in various districts.

A water outage will affect Wards 7, 13, and 15 in District 8, as well as Tan Tuc Town and Tan Kien Commune in Binh Chanh District.

Other areas subject to weakened water supply include Wards 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 in District 6; Wards 6, 14, and 16 in District 8; and Tan Thoi Nhat, Tan Hung Thuan, Dong Hung Thuan, Trung My Tay, Tan Chanh Hiep, Tan Thoi Hiep, Hiep Thanh, Thoi An, Thanh Xuan Wards in District 12.

Tay Thanh, Son Ky, Tan Son Nhi, Tan Quy, Tan Thanh, Phu Tho Hoa, Phu Thanh, Hoa Thanh, Hiep Tan, and Tan Thoi Hoa Wards in Tan Phu District, together with Wards 12, 13, 14, and 15 in Tan Binh District will experience weakened water flow.

In Go Vap District, Wards 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 will be affected.

All of Binh Tan and Hoc Mon Districts will also endure a similar inconvenience.

In Binh Chanh District, the affected communes are Vinh Loc A, Vinh Loc B, Pham Van Hai, Binh Loi, Le Minh Xuan, Tan Nhut, Binh Chanh, An Phu Tay, Tan Quy Tay, Phong Phu, and Binh Hung.

Sawaco stated that due to the specific conditions of the water supply area, the service restoration time may be later than planned. 

The corporation has instructed its affiliated units to regulate the water supply network to minimize the impact on residents.
