Photos of three white-haired women traveling to Phu Quoc Island off Kien Giang Province in southern Vietnam have gone viral on social media.

Vietnamese netizens have enthusiastically shared the photos and shared their hopes of having such strong friendships in their own old age.

The photographer of the photos is Quynh Luong, a Vietnamese well-known actress who sponsored the old women’s trip.

The three women are close friends and sisters, according to Luong.

Of the trio, the oldest is Luong’s 101-year old maternal grandmother. The two others are her maternal grandmother’s 80-year-old younger sister and 75-year-old sister-in-law.

The trip to Phu Quoc was the first time they had traveled together and Luong made sure they travelled in style by buying them business-class air tickets.

She shared that she visited only islands and tourist sites on Phu Quoc, while the women also visited several cultural destinations, including a prison, pagodas, and temples.

During a speedboat trip on the island, her 101-year-old grandmother was the only person not to get seasick. When the speedboat reached the wharf, she refused to be assisted off the boat and insisted on disembarking by herself.

She even wanted to go diving amongst the reefs, but her companions refused to let her.

Luong shared that her grandmother takes one trip each year. She also shard that the three women meet regularly in their hometown and that her grandmother and her grandmother’s sister-in-law eat meals together each day.

When one of them goes on a trip, they call each other every day.

After uploading the photos of their trip to social media, many people said the three women exuded positive energy.

Luong said she hopes the trip serves as motivation for others to spend time with their grandparents.
