-- A thunderstorm accompanied by hail struck Cao Bang Province in northern Vietnam on Tuesday, resulting in over 500 houses having their roofs blown off.

-- Vietnam is transferring 5.15 million metric tons of CO2 to non-profit transaction platform LEAF/Emergent to mitigate emissions from forests in the south-central and Central Highlands regions during the 2022-26 period. LEAF/Emergent agrees to pay a minimum price of US$10 per metric ton of CO2, totaling $51.5 million, the Department of Forestry under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced on Tuesday.

-- Police in Binh Duong Province, southern Vietnam are investigating the reasons surrounding the unexpected death of an eight-month-old boy in Ben Cat Town, who was found with bruises after attending an unregistered daycare facility last week.

-- Authorities in Quang Tri Province, north-central Vietnam on Tuesday said that they apprehended five Laotians transporting 100kg of suspected synthetic drugs and four other Laotians related to the case that were in hiding.

-- The Central Highlands province of Lam Dong felled several pine trees on Prenn Pass in Da Lat City on Tuesday as a preventive measure against landslides.

-- Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security refutes rumors of an overseas travel ban on Sacombank’s chairman Duong Cong Minh, which led to a massive sell-off of the Ho Chi Minh City-based lender’s shares on Tuesday.

-- Vietnam’s state oil distribution firm PetroVietnam Oil Corp (PV Oil) reported that its information technology system was deliberately and illegally targeted with ransomware on Tuesday. Plans are underway to rectify the issue within the next two days.

-- Market mechanisms and an oversupply of rice, especially a certain Vietnamese variety, are contributing to the sharp drop in the rice redemption price for the upcoming farming season in Thailand, which starts in April, Bangkok Post reported on Tuesday, citing the Thai Agriculturist Association.
