-- Vietnam’s Party General Secretary To Lam praised the U.S. business community, especially the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), for its contributions to Vietnam-U.S. trade and investment during a reception for the USABC delegation in Hanoi on Tuesday.

-- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh pushed for balanced, harmonious, and sustainable economic and trade ties with the U.S. during a working session in Hanoi on Tuesday with the USABC delegation and nearly 60 major U.S. corporations.

Society

-- The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has approved a plan to install a 6,000-cubic-meter-per-hour pump on National Highway 1, from Phu Lam transformer station to An Lap Bridge in Binh Tan District, to reduce flooding from heavy rain and high tides.

-- The engineering force of the Quang Tri Province Military Command safely handled and detonated a wartime magnetic bomb in Dakrong District on Tuesday, near National Highway 15D, a key route linking Laos with central Vietnam.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Command said on Tuesday it was renovating the ground at Bach Dang Wharf to place 18 ceremonial cannons, each weighing four to five metric tons, in celebration of the upcoming 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s reunification on April 30.

-- Can Tho City in southern Vietnam is looking for solutions to handle one million metric tons of backlog waste, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

-- UNICEF and the World Health Organization said on Tuesday they remain committed to supporting Vietnam’s measles control efforts as recent data show the outbreak continues in the country, with deaths reported.

-- German Prof. Dr. Erich Johann Lejeune, founder of the 'Heart for Heart' organization, received Da Nang’s inaugural 'Dedication Award' on Tuesday for nearly 20 years of contributions to cardiology in the city.

Business

-- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged increased U.S. investments in Vietnam during a reception in Hanoi on Tuesday for Charles James Boyd Bowman, general director of the Trump Organization’s Vietnam project.

-- Norwegian seafood exports to Vietnam reached a record 72,000 metric tons in 2024, worth US$252 million, including over 24,000 metric tons of salmon, according to the Norwegian Seafood Council.

Sports

-- Vietnam will face Cambodia in a friendly football match at Go Dau Stadium in Binh Duong Province at 7:30 pm on Wednesday. The match will be broadcast live on FPT Play.
