Traffic police officers in Dong Nai Province, a neighbor of Ho Chi Minh City, on Wednesday caught two men fishing out dead shrimp and fish from the Dong Nai River after pouring a bottle of pesticide into the water.
Local waterway traffic police officers on Thursday said they were completing dossiers to handle the duo, L.D.P., 38, and N.H.D., 33, both residents of Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province.
At about 12:30 am on Wednesday, a team of waterway traffic police officers were patrolling the Dong Nai River when they found P. and D. catching shrimp and fish from the water.

Upon seeing the police, P. threw the empty bottle of pesticide, branded 'Sanpen alpha,' into the river.
The police then arrested the two and seized a wooden dinghy, two accumulators, two power inverters, two fish rackets, two kilograms of shrimp, and one kilogram of fish.
P. and D. confessed to deliberately releasing pesticide into the Dong Nai River with the intention of capturing seafood for subsequent sale.

After fish and shrimp washed ashore, they used rackets to collect their 'catch.'
Local authorities are continuing to investigate the case and will punish the two in accordance with the law.
