-- One Vietnamese crew member remains missing after a 139-tonne fishing trawler sank off South Korea’s coast early Sunday morning, while two other Vietnamese crew members were rescued and are receiving treatment, according to the Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea.

-- The traffic police agency under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Public Security announced on Sunday that a traffic police major has been temporarily suspended for violating cultural conduct and using inappropriate language toward violators, as recorded and shared on social media.

-- Research data recently released by the Vietnam Association of Real Estate Brokers shows that the minimum recommended income to purchase an average-priced house in Hanoi is 2.3 to 10 times higher than the city’s average household income.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control refuted recent social media claims about a new, undetectable, and highly toxic COVID-19 variant, stating there is no scientific basis for the information.

-- Vietnamese tech giant FPT Corporation’s IT service export revenue from Japan exceeded US$500 million in 2024.

-- Vietnam’s coffee prices in January rose over 78 percent compared to the same period in 2024, driving coffee exports to a historic $763 million in just 30 days, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
