Police in Thai Nguyen Province, northern Vietnam said on Wednesday that they were investigating the cause of a house fire that resulted in the deaths of a Vietnamese-Indian married couple.
The fire broke out at around 4:00 am on the same day at a two-story house down Alley 379 on Duong Tu Minh Street in Tan Long Ward, Thai Nguyen City of the namesake province.
H., a 43-year-old resident of Quang Vinh Ward, Thai Nguyen City, purchased the house to use both as a residence and as an office for her online business.

There were six people in the house at that time, including H., her Indian husband S., a housekeeper, and H.’s children and nibling.
The latter four, staying on the ground floor, managed to escape the fire while H. and S. were trapped on the first floor.
Firefighters and rescuers arrived at the scene around 4:15 am and conducted rescue operations.

It took them 15 minutes to bring the married couple out of the fire, but they were motionless.
The two victims were rushed to Thai Nguyen National Hospital for emergency treatment but did not survive.
