Da Nang City in central Vietnam is calling on strategic investors for multiple projects, including free trade zones and hi-tech sites.
The municipal administration said on Sunday that it would organize a conference on August 31 to deploy the lawmaking National Assembly's resolution on the organization of urban government and piloting a number of special mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang, with the participation of some 500 officials, diplomats, and enterprises.
The resolution outlines projects that the city prioritizes for investment, including innovation centers, data centers, and research and development centers linked to training.
These projects are intended to support high-tech transfers in fields such as information technology, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, automation, new materials, and clean energy, with each requiring a minimum investment of VND2 trillion (US$80.3 million).
Da Nang also calls for investment in semiconductor chip, semiconductor integrated circuit, accessory manufacturing, integrated circuit, printed electronics, battery, new material, and defense industry projects approved by the prime minister with an investment of over VND4 trillion ($160.6 million) each.

Among the projects put up for investment attraction are functional areas of the Da Nang free trade zone, including a trade - service area, a logistics center connected with Lien Chieu Seaport, and a production area with a price tag of VND3 trillion ($120.5 million) each.
The city is also seeking to develop and exploit inland waterway tourism at a cost of at least VND8 trillion ($321.3 million) and the Lien Chieu Seaport project at VND45 trillion ($1.8 billion).
Strategic investors will be entitled to incentives while fulfilling obligations.
Da Nang has made surveys, chosen locations for functional areas in the free trade zone, and worked with strategic investors who show their interest in the projects.
