-- Vietnam’s Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son on Monday extended their congratulations to China on its 75th National Day (October 1, 1949 - October 1, 2024).

-- Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President To Lam and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements between the two countries' ministries, sectors, and agencies following their talks in Ulaanbaatar on Monday afternoon, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council has approved a project to upgrade and expand the 1.7-kilometer Tan Thoi Hiep 21 Street in District 12 at a cost of nearly VND1.4 trillion ($56.8 million).

-- Authorities in Ho Chi Minh City released five long-tailed monkeys back into the wild in outlying Can Gio District, the municipal Forest Protection Department confirmed on Monday.

-- Vietnam paroles over 3,700 prisoners, including 20 foreign nationals, this year, according to State President To Lam’s amnesty decision that takes effect on Tuesday.

-- Vice-chairman of the administration in Ho Chi Minh City Bui Xuan Cuong has tasked relevant agencies with opening the Nam Ly Bridge in Thu Duc City to traffic on Wednesday. Work started on the project on October 8, 2016 and was suspended from March 2019 to March 2023.

-- A car assembly factory in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City operated by a joint venture between world-renowned carmaker Mercedes-Benz Group AG and a local company has had its land lease extended by five years, starting April 14 next year, according to Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha’s decision.

-- Meta will expand the production of its latest mixed reality headset Quest 3S in Vietnam in 2025, which is expected to create some 1,000 jobs for local workers, Nick Clegg, president of global affairs at Meta, who is on a business trip to Vietnam, said during a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Hanoi on Monday.

-- Long Son Petrochemicals Company Limited on Monday announced that its US$5-billion petrochemical complex had begun commercial operations in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, southern Vietnam.
