-- Vietnam’s Party General Secretary and State President To Lam and a high-ranking delegation laid flowers in tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh, a national liberation hero and an outstanding cultural figure of Vietnam, at his statue in Montreau Park in Montreuil City, France on Sunday.

-- Party chief and State President To Lam on Sunday attended the inauguration of a memorial plaque honoring late President Ho Chi Minh in France’s Sainte-Adresse City.

-- According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather in the north is expected to be cold and sunny from Sunday to Saturday, while the central and southern regions will experience rain.

-- According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO), the unemployment rate from January to September among working-age individuals was 2.26 percent, a decrease of 0.02 percentage points compared to the same period last year, while the underemployment rate was 1.99 percent, down 0.03 percentage points.

-- To prepare for the flower market for the 2025 Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29, farmers in Sa Dec flower village, Dong Thap Province, southern Vietnam have begun planting 100,000 baskets of colorful South Korean florist’s daisy flowers, along with other daisy varieties. This represents a significant spike, driven by the popularity and high prices from the previous season.

-- According to the GSO, Vietnam’s gross domestic product (GDP) for January-September increased 6.82 percent compared to the same period last year, with third-quarter GDP growth reaching 7.4 percent.

-- From January to September, Vietnam welcomed 12.7 million international visitors, a 43-percent surge compared to the same period last year, according to the GSO.

-- Singapore-based Keppel Ltd plans to divest 70 percent of its capital in the 64-hectare Saigon Sports City project, which remains an empty lot in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City after four years of construction, expecting to earn up to VND7.5 trillion (US$303 million).

-- Flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has launched direct flights from Hanoi to Munich, Germany, operating twice a week, and from Ho Chi Minh City to Munich, operating once a week, starting Saturday.

-- According to data from The Box Office Vietnam, ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ topped the box office last weekend, earning over VND8 billion ($323,000) within its three opening days and advance screenings.
