-- Vietnam’s National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, his spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, and a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese legislature arrived in Tokyo on Tuesday evening, starting a five-day official visit to Japan at the invitation of President of the House of Councillors Sekiguchi Masakazu and his spouse.

-- Two consecutive earthquakes, with magnitudes of 3.8 and 2.5, struck Kon Plong District in Kon Tum Province on Tuesday evening. There were no reports of damage to people or property.
-- Da Nang was granted the Vietnam Smart City Award 2024 for the fifth consecutive time, the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (Vinasa) announced at a ceremony held in Hanoi on Tuesday.
-- The Hanoi traffic police unit said on Tuesday that its interdisciplinary task force had fined a business VND12 million (US$472) for dropping dirt and rocks on National Highway 1 in Thang Loi Commune, Thuong Tin District. The debris caused several motorcyclists to slip and fall.
-- The People’s Committee of District 3 in Ho Chi Minh City has stated that it will proceed with enforcement actions against the only household remaining that refuses to hand over land for the Ben Thanh-Tham Luong metro line project.

-- More than half a million visitors attended the second Long An Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week in 2024, which takes place in from last Thursday to Wednesday, helping the Mekong Delta province surpass the milestone of two million visitors in a year for the first time, according to Nguyen Thanh Thanh, director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

-- Vietnamese martial artists claimed their third gold medal at the ongoing World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Hong Kong on Tuesday, the fourth day of the event.
-- The International Teqball Federation, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, will host the 2024 Teqball World Championship from Wednesday to Sunday at Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, marking the first time the event has been held in Vietnam.
