Da Nang, the capital city of central Vietnam, will welcome the Lunar New Year holiday, or Tet, with fireworks displays at three venues in Hai Chau, Lien Chieu, and Hoa Vang Districts.

The municipal People’s Committee on Tuesday announced its plan to hold pyrotechnic shows to usher in the Lunar New Year, which begins on January 29.

The city did not set off fireworks for the New Year celebration.

However, for the Tet celebration, high-altitude and low-altitude pyrotechnic shows will be let off for 15 minutes at 0:00 on January 29.

These fireworks displays, set to take place on Bach Dang Street, near the administration center of Lien Chieu District and at a resettlement area in Hoa Vang District, will feature 1,950 high-altitude pyrotechnics and 90 low-altitude setups.

Da Nang City annually organizes the International Fireworks Festival during the peak travel season.

The 12th edition of the festival in 2024 attracted seven international pyrotechnic teams from France, Italy, the U.S., Germany, Poland, China, and Finland, along with a team from Da Nang.

The event took place from June to July last year, drawing the sheer number of local and international tourists to the coastal city.
