While performing a ritual for the God of Wealth on February 7, Ho Viet from Kon Tum Province, Vietnam was unexpectedly visited by Cyro Watari, a 59-year-old Brazilian traveler who had come all the way to meet him after being astonished by their uncanny resemblance.
Viet told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that Watari expressed his surprise when he saw Viet, who looked so much like him and had come all the way to meet him in person.
Watari was able to find Viet because Viet is an artist, content creator, YouTuber, and TikToker, whose information is easily accessible.
The strange story did not end there, as another surprise followed when Watari showed Viet photos that merged their photos.
One half was a photo of Viet posted on his personal Facebook page, and the other half was of Watari.
All of them were downloaded and merged by Watari himself.
It was not until they met that the photos were revealed.

Both men sport closely cropped hair, high foreheads, long and gray beards, and slightly tanned skin.
After two days of talking, Viet admitted that they had many things in common.
They share passions of travel and exploration, a fondness for forests, mountains, swimming and fishing, and a liking for children.
They also both enjoy paragliding, cycling, motorbiking, and stand-up paddleboarding.
“It's great to have an international friend. The fact that we look so alike makes this friend even more special,” Viet shared.

The two-day meeting between Watari and Viet in Kon Tum was full of surprises, laughter, and long conversations. There seemed to be no awkwardness between them.
Using smartphones and automatic translation software, they shared stories about themselves, their hometowns, and cultures.
Watari said there is research that suggests every person in the world has one or more people who look like them. However, finding them is not easy.

Viet also took the opportunity to share information about Vietnamese culture and people in the Central Highlands.
After two days, Watari left Kon Tum and resumed his travels throughout Vietnam.
