-- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received R.N. Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation in Hanoi on Friday, where he called on Tatarstan to consider building a Kamaz automobile manufacturing plant in Vietnam.

Society

-- A fire had burned 15 hectares of forest on Nghiem Mountain in Tuyen Quang Province, northern Vietnam, as of 11:00 pm on Friday.

-- Up to 4,737 rental houses in Ho Chi Minh City still do not meet fire prevention and safety standards and will be forced to close if these issues are not addressed by March 30, according to authorities.

-- The family of a 44-year-old patient from Dak Lak Province, who suffered severe injuries and brain death in a work accident, agreed to donate his organs for a successful transplant to save seven other patients, Thong Nhat Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City said on Friday.

-- The People's Court of Binh Thuan Province sentenced 41-year-old Russian national Roman Nikiforow to 18 years in prison on Friday for the murder of his compatriot.

-- The State Bank of Vietnam set the USD/VND exchange rate at VND24,813 on Friday, an increase of VND6 from the previous day.

-- More than 350 international brands will showcase their products at 500 booths during  the Café Show Vietnam 2025 & Tea Show Vietnam 2025, held from April 17 to 19 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in District 7.

-- Thuan Phuoc Bay Investment Urban Joint Stock Company began construction on a 97.6-hectare urban area project, with a total investment of VND11.4 trillion (US$445.22 million), at the end of the Han River in Da Nang City on Friday.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports has submitted a plan to the municipal People’s Committee to showcase 10,500 drones over the Saigon River at 8:40 pm on April 30, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s Reunification Day. The event aims to set a Vietnamese record for the largest number of drones flying simultaneously.

-- The opening ceremony of the third Vietnam Bánh Mì Festival was held at Le Van Tam Park in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, on Friday evening.

Sports

-- The Danang International Marathon 2025 will officially kick off in Da Nang City on Sunday, attracting over 7,000 athletes, including a record 3,000 international participants from 72 countries and territories.
