Tourists, especially thrill-seekers that are planning trips to Da Lat City, located in Vietnam’s Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, now can add a newly-launched glass-bottomed bridge to their bucket list to appreciate panoramic views of the upland city.

The Ngan Thong glass bridge connecting Thung Lung Tinh Yeu (Valley of Love) and Mong Mo Hill, two tourist attractions in Da Lat, was opened to the public on Saturday after four years of construction, making it the first-ever of its kind in the Central Highlands region.

Dang Van Thanh, board chairman at Thanh Thanh Cong (TTC) Group, a Vietnamese multi-industry conglomerate, said that the TTC-invested bridge is able to serve 200 visitors at a time.

Before the launch, TTC Group constantly pumped 50 metric tons of water into tanks put on the bridge to test its strength.

The suspension bridge, which was designed for visitors to go one way from Mong Mo Hill to Thung Lung Tinh Yeu, is some 90 meters above pine forests below, with a total length of 325 meters and a width of three meters.

The investor used five-layered tempered glass to make the bridge deck, in addition to applying 7D technology with special visual and sound effects to enhance the experience of tourists.

Thanh revealed that TTC Group is set to upgrade the 7D-technology bridge into a 12D.

Tickets to the Ngan Thong glass bridge are offered at VND400,000 (US$17) per person.

Visitors can opt to buy a ticket combo of VND600,000 ($25.19) which allows them to visit both Thung Lung Tinh Yeu and the Ngan Thong glass bridge.

Another combo valued at VND700,000 ($29.39) includes admission to Thung Lung Tinh Yeu, the Ngan Thong bridge, and a buffet offered at a restaurant inside the tourist site.
