In the days following the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, which occurred from February 8 to 14, Nam O Beach in Da Nang City, the capital of central Vietnam, has become a popular destination for visitors from both near and far.
Enthusiasts flock to the beach to marvel at rocks adorned with lush moss, creating a picturesque and captivating sight.
Many locals and tourists crowded the reef off the beach in Hoa Hiep Ward, Lien Chieu District on Tuesday morning to check out the pristine landscape.
When it is sunny, moss-blanketed rocks turn the reef green and sparkling in the midst of crystal clear blue waters.
Some locals said that the optimal time to visit the moss-covered rock reef is during the spring, immediately after the Tet festival.
The moss undergoes a growth period of over half a month, creating a vibrant and enchanting display on the rocks.

Visitors are recommended to travel to the beach at sunrise or sunset, when tides ebb as the moss-blanketed rocks appear and make the reef look like a vast green carpet on the surface of the water.
Phan Thi Mai Phuong, a 32-year-old resident of Thua Thien-Hue Province, a neighbor of Da Nang, said that many images of the charming moss-coated rock reef that went viral on social media urged her and her friends to tour Nam O Beach.
“It is really wonderful to admire these moss-covered rocks, while taking photos with the sea, the reef, and the ‘green carpet’,” said Phuong.
