The Hanoi administration has decided to hold fireworks displays at five venues to welcome the 2025 New Year after 10 years of no fireworks during this holiday.

The five locations are set to be Hoan Kiem, Ha Dong, Nam Tu Liem, and Dong Anh Districts, along with Son Tay Town.

The capital’s fireworks shows will start at 0:00 on January 1, 2025 and last for 15 minutes.

The city will also organize countdown events at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and Cach Mang Thang Tam Square on New Year's Eve to usher in the New Year.

Meanwhile, fireworks will light up the sky over 30 venues citywide to ring in the 2025 Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

These high-altitude and low-altitude pyrotechnic shows will be set off for 15 minutes at 0:00 on January 29, 2025, or the first day of the Lunar New Year.

For the Tet celebration, the capital city will launch a series of cultural programs such as the Hanoi international light festival in Tay Ho District, which is slated for January 18, 2025, and the Brilliant Thang Long show scheduled for January 28, 2025.
