Vietnam cut retail petrol prices by up to VND3,600 per liter on Thursday, marking the second consecutive decrease since the beginning of July.
RON95-III now sells for VND26,075 (a little over $1) per liter following a regular fuel price adjustment by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
E5RON92 gasoline prices dropped VND2,710 to VND25,070 per liter.
The ministries also brought diesel prices down VND1,740 to VND24,850 per liter.
Prices of kerosene were slashed by VND1,100 to VND25,240, and mazut fell to VND16,542 per kilogram, a fall of VND1,170.
Global oil prices also slipped on Thursday as demand concerns outweighed tight global supply following the release of U.S. government data that showed tepid gasoline consumption during the peak summer driving season, according to Reuters.
