Saigontourist offers special promotion program to Japanese visitors to Vietnam

Saigontourist Group, a leading tour operator in Vietnam, has launched a special promotion program for Japanese travelers and the Japanese community in Vietnam when they use tourist products and services provided by the company’s subsidiaries from now until the end of this year.

The Ho Chi Minh City-based travel giant unveiled the program at a ceremony held on Thursday at Majestic Hotel in the city’s District 1 on Thursday to announce the establishment of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association’s branch at Saigontourist.

The program will be applied at 70 hotels, restaurants, resorts, recreational areas, and travel firms within the Saigontourist system across Vietnam from March 1 to December 31, for Japanese tourists in Vietnam as well as Japanese who are living and working in this country.

Accordingly, a series of 5-star hotels In Ho Chi Minh City, such as Rex Hotel Saigon, Grand Hotel Saigon, Hotel Majestic Saigon, Caravelle Hotel Saigon, and New World Saigon Hotel, apply preferential room rates together with many attractive services for their Japanese guests.  

Particularly, Continental, a classical boutique hotel in the city’s downtown District 1, offers special incentives to Japanese guests booking online via code 'HNVN2024.'

In the southern region, several 4-star resorts, including Saigon Phu Quoc Resort and Spa in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, Saigon Rach Gia Resort in Kien Giang, and Saigon - Con Dao Resort in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, are offering a minimum discount of 10 percent on their room rates, along with additional desirable services.

Many tourist destinations in the central part such as Da Lat City in Lam Dong Province, Ninh Chu Beach in Ninh Thuan Province, and Hue in Thua Thien-Hue Province are also included in the promotion program for Japanese guests.

In the northern region, Saigon - Ha Long Hotel is providing room rates starting at VND1.1 million (US$45) per night throughout the duration of the program.

Saigontourist Travel Service Co. Ltd., a member of the group, applies a 5-10 percent discount to Japanese tourists who take seat-in-coach or private tours.

Through this program, Saigontourist Group wishes to bring great experiences to Japanese visitors as well as help them save costs during their tours to explore and enjoy the beauty of the land and people of Vietnam by using the group’s quality products and services, a representative of the company said.

As the number of Japanese tourists to Vietnam has increasingly grown over recent years, hotels, resorts, restaurants, travel agencies, and golf courses owned by Saigontourist serve over 200,000 Japanese visitors each year, the group said. 

The leading travel operator organizes tours for thousands of Vietnamese to visit Japan every year.

By integrating local cultural values into each of their business activities, Saigontourist, which was established in 1975, aims to promote the image of Vietnamese tourism to international friends, contributing to making tourism one of the spearhead economic sectors of the country, the firm said on its website.

Vietnam welcomed 12.6 million international arrivals in 2023, far exceeding the target of eight million and recording a 3.4-fold increase year on year, the General Statistics Office (GSO) reported.

With 589,500 Japanese visitors to Vietnam last year, Japan emerged as one of the primary source markets of tourists for Vietnam, alongside other key contributors such as South Korea, China, and the U.S., according to the GSO.
