A 100-hectare data center and a submarine cable landing station, whose estimated price tag is VND35 trillion ($1.3 billion), are expected to be built in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, southern Vietnam, according to local authorities.

DCH Construction Investment JSC has got approval from the provincial administration to survey locations to develop the data center in Chau Duc District and the submarine cable landing station in the provincial city of Vung Tau.

The data center, named Digital Hub, will feature five data center halls with a combined capacity of 20MW per hall.

The facility will house 6,000 racks, each with an average power capacity of 15kW.

Aside from meeting stringent safety and security standards, the data center will be equipped with a disaster recovery system to protect and restore data operations during emergencies, ensuring uninterrupted service under all conditions.

The Digital Hub is considered a key project for the coastal province and a critical step in advancing Vietnam’s IT infrastructure, positioning the country as a competitive player in the global tech landscape.

The company will develop the submarine cable landing station to support the data center’s transmission and storage capabilities.

This cable system is expected to become a vital component of both regional and international digital infrastructure, enhancing network safety and the quality of Internet services and international connectivity.
