Vietnamese featured on global climate website

The US-based international environment organization 350.org has recently featured the Vietnamese language on its website, which proves the 350.org Vietnam’s tremendous efforts in becoming a model of building climatic change campaigns among developing countries.

From now on, all information on the global organization’s activities will be translated into Vietnamese and posted in the Vietnamese section on the organization’s website.

Vietnamese becomes the 6th language to be featured on the website, along with English, French, German, Spain and Portuguese.

350.org has also launched http://klima.io/, which provides free nice writing fonts for everyone to adopt in building climate change campaigns or other nonprofit activities.

Founded in 2007, 350.org gathers 188 countries and territories with the strategic purpose of promoting alternative energy and low-impact lifestyles to reduce climate change. Only three countries, the US, New Zealand and Vietnam, have the organization’s office and staff.

The number 350 stands for 350 parts per million (ppm), what many scientists, climate experts, and progressive national governments consider the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere.

350.org thus aims to reduce the current CO2 concentration from 400ppm to 350ppm.

Debutting on Aug 2011, 350.org Vietnam has held several climate campaigns such as The planet in motion, Solar energy bottles, Climate camps and Green Tet. Its latest campaign, Power Shift, is running from Sept 2013 to the end of this year.

350.org Vietnam currently has a membership of some 10,000 volunteers nationwide, most of who are high school and college students.
