Unlike its four previous seasons, the fifth season of the Vietnamese version of the "America's Next Top Model" reality show is open to contestants with some catwalking experience, who will compete with other amateur contenders for the title.

The preliminary rounds of this year’s show kicked off in Hanoi last week and in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday.

Potential contestants can also submit their photos to the show’s Facebook page.

The ten contestants who earn the most votes from the jury will compete in the preliminary rounds.

The show is set to air on national television channel VTV3 at 8:00 pm every Saturday, starting November 1.

Only amateur female contestants in modeling were eligible to enter the show's previous seasons.

The TV program has been open to male contestants since last year.
