The British Council has just unveiled a list of 12 exceptional ideas centered on “Reimagining Play for Early Childhood Audiences Aged 0-8 Years,” which is part of the 2014 ELEVATE StartWell™ Challenge in the UK and East Asia.
The challenge is itself part of the British Council’s overall ELEVATE program.
Dang Minh Thu, art director of Kidstallation, the first playground for children and parents to have fun with installation art in Vietnam, has made it to the list.
She is set to join the other 11 contestants from the UK, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines during the 2014 ELEVATE Innovation Camp lasting for two days in Tokyo, starting February 23, before staying for four days at the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
The contestants will share their ideas with one another and participate productively in all activities at the two venues.
They will also work with local and international experts to improve their own ideas, experiment with innovative design models, and engage in teamwork.
The contestants are expected to re-submit their ideas by the end of the stay for a chance to win part of a S$50,000 (US$39,990) fund to embark on their project.
A master’s graduate from a university in the UK, Thu is well experienced in teaching art to kids and organizing artistic and cultural events in Hanoi.
