The founder and director of Interfilm Berlin, one of the largest international short film festivals, will have an exchange with cinematography fans in Ho Chi Minh City this weekend.

The exchange with Heinz Hermanns, founder and director of Interfilm Berlin, is being organized by Saigon International Film School (SIFS).

The event, set to take place at 4:00 pm on Saturday at the school, located at 15A Hoang Hoa Tham Street in Binh Thanh District, promises to bring local film lovers as well as young filmmakers the chance to learn film direction from a world professional.

Several acclaimed short films from Interfilm Berlin will also be screened at the event.

Those interested can register to attend the exchange at http://link.sifs.edu.vn/giaoluuheinhermanns. Admission is free.

Heinz Hermanns has traveled the world and held scores of inspirational exchanges on film direction with filmmakers and young cinema buffs.

He was in a similar exchange in Vietnam in 2012.

With almost 7,000 entries from over 100 countries and a festival program boasting more than 400 films, Interfilm Berlin, which was founded in 1982, is one of the largest and oldest international short film festivals, according to its website.

The spectrum ranges from live-action to animation, documentaries and experimental films right up to virals, commercials and music videos.
