Tuoi Tre to organize show to highlight peace message in Japan

Sunday, April 10, 2016, 11:09 GMT+7

A music show is slated to take place in Japan next week in celebration of Vietnamese people’s aspirations for peace and the two countries’ resolve in defending their national sovereignty.

The program, ‘Canh Hoa Hoa Binh,’ roughly translated as ‘Flowers of Peace,’ is slated to run at Tokyo International Forum at 5:00 pm on Thursday.

The show is the fourth edition of ‘Tuoi Tre Vietnam – Cau Chuyen Hoa Binh’ (Vietnamese Youth – The Story of Peace), jointly organized annually by Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper and the Vietnam National Union of Students Central Committee.

The program, which debuted in 2014, is meant to pass the torch of passion on to young generations in order to help them nurture their national pride and enthusiasm as well as encouraging them to turn their desire into action to defend and contribute to the country.

Its third edition, ‘Anh Hoa Binh,’ literally meaning ‘Sunshine of Peace,’ took place in Hanoi on March 20.

The show, which featured many household artist names, was also meant to commemorate the 85th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931-March 26, 2016).

The third version accentuated the dynamic image of peace-adoring modern-day youths who are highly patriotic and eager to be part of their country’s cultural and socio-economic growth.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Tokyo show highlights the peace-loving spirit among the Vietnamese and Japanese, and the two countries’ resolve in respecting and safeguarding each other’s territorial sovereignty in the coming time.

The show also puts a strong emphasis on the strength of friendship and a borderless sharing spirit between the two countries.

Themed ‘Flowers of Peace,’ the show is symbolized by simple-looking lotuses placed harmoniously among gorgeous cherry blossoms, the respective iconic blooms of Vietnam and Japan.

The Tokyo event will feature riveting performances by beloved Vietnamese singers, including Hong Nhung, Doan Trang, Ha Anh Tuan, Phuong Linh, and Hoang Quyen, and aesthecially pleasing dances put on by choreographer Tan Loc, the organizers said in a press conference in mid-March 2016.

The show has also been enthusiastically backed by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the East Asian country’s Mainichi newspaper and the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in that nation.

“The first and second shows, held in Ho Chi Minh City, were a great success enthusiastically embraced by a large number of audience members and Tuoi Tre readers,” Tang Huu Phong, editor-in-chief of Tuoi Tre, said during the press meeting.

“We thus decided to organize the third and fourth editions to keep the spirit going,” he added.

Pham Phu Truong, general director of Global Integration Business Consultants, who has provided sponsorship for the ‘Tuoi Tre Vietnam – Cau Chuyen Hoa Binh’ program since its debut in 2014, expressed his wish to continue the support for more editions to come, particularly the show to take place in Singapore.

Tran Thi Giang Thuy, deputy CFO of Thai Binh Investment Trading Corp., another of the program’s sponsors, is hopeful that the peace stories someday will be told in Cuba, where the company has been exporting products to.

Apart from spreading the peace message, the organizers have also handed out a total of 85 scholarships, worth VND 10 million (US$ 442) each, to high-achieving university students who are children of peace-keeping forces in border areas and islands across Vietnam.

The scholarships were among those meant for students with the highest monetary value that Tuoi Tre has given so far.

A batch of 50 such grants were presented to students in the northern region in Hanoi on Saturday, with another 18 to be awarded to those who could not make it to the presentation ceremony.

Seventeen other grants had been given to students during the third ‘Tuoi Tre Vietnam – Cau Chuyen Hoa Binh’ show on March 20.
