A young Vietnamese DJ has represented his country to join Tomorrowland 2016, the world’s biggest EDM festival since its establishment in 2004.
Slim V, who was born in 1988 in Hanoi with the name Cao Van Vinh, was invited to join the fest by a Dutch producer.
In Vietnam, this young artist was crowned champion at The Remix 2016, a musical contest in which contestants produce innovative remixes of songs by making use of electro instruments and techniques.
Its copyright was purchased from the Turkish subsidiary of Global Agency, one of the world’s leading independent content distributors of TV series, formats, and films for global markets, according to the Vietnamese show’s website.
Slim V also performed in a show together with Armin Van Buuren, a famous Dutch DJ, record producer, musician, remixer, pianist and songwriter during his visit to Vietnam in December last year.
“This is a great chance for me to see and get experience from the world’s leading DJs and producers,” he said.
At the festival, the 28-year-old representative also noticed that ‘banh mi,’ a famous Vietnamese street food, was included in the menu, attracting many foreign gourmands.
