Vietnamese artists have been honored with four gold medals at this year’s international artistic photo contest.
The organizers of the 9th International Artistic Photo Contest in Vietnam 2017 announced its winners on Saturday morning, along with an exhibition to present the excellent entries of the participants.
The competition was organized by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA), in coordination with the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP).
Entry submission took place from June 1 to August 15.
The contest received some 11,448 masterpieces from 958 artists from 36 countries and territories.

The competition included four main sections, namely Portrait, Landscape, Daily Life, and Open.
One VAPA gold medal and one FIAP gold medal were to be given to the deserving participants in each category.
In the Portrait section, Vietnamese photographer Vu Duy Boi won the FIAP gold medal with the picture ‘Phu nu Thai’ (Thai Ethnic Minority Woman) while Alla Sokolova from France bagged the VAPA gold medal with ‘Papa Carlo.’

Vietnam’s Bui Viet Dong was honored with the VAPA gold medal for his ‘Tu tam’ (From the Heart) photo and China’s Guanlai Ouyang collected the FIAP gold with ‘Love In the Snow’ in the Daily Life section.
In the Landscape category, ‘Tuyet voi dao Truong Sa’ (The Wonderful Spratlys) by Vietnamese artist Nguyen A claimed the VAPA gold. Italy’s Giuseppe Tomelleri earned the FIAP gold with his ‘Early Morning’ entry.
The VAPA gold medal in the Open section was given to the ‘The Swan’ of Tran Tuan Viet from Vietnam, while the FIAP gold went to Alla Sokolova for ‘Relationship.’
