An EDM (electronic dance music) festival is slated to be organized for the first time on Ho Chi Minh City’s famous downtown ‘walking street’ later this month.

The Ravolution Music Festival by Jetstar (RMFbyJETSTAR) will treat audiences to performances by famous DJs and music producers on the Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in District 1 on May 26, the organizers announced on Tuesday.

Ravolution is an annual music festival launched in 2016.

This year’s edition will feature an all star line-up of renowned international EDM artists including Ferry Corsten, a legendary Trance DJ from the Netherlands, the Nervo sisters, one of the world's top female DJs, and DJ Jay Hardway, known for the hit track “Wizard” he produced in collaboration with Martin Garrix.

Vietnam’s local talents, such as HuyDx, Hiwatts, and Bad Andy, will also perform at the show.

The area of Nguyen Hue zoned for the event starts at the Ngo Duc Ke and Nguyen Hue intersection, where the main stage will be located, and will stretch to Sun Wah Tower at the Huynh Thuc Khang and Nguyen Hue intersection.

Attendees will have the option to pay to party with 4,000 other spectators in the General Admission area of the event or dance the night away while enjoying the program through the giant LED screens in the Free Entry section.

“We invest heavily in sound and lighting, including a spectacular laser show,” the organizers told reporters.

After receiving flak from previous community events, Ravolution Music Festival’s hosts have pledged to clear trash from the street after the show and return the downtown pedestrian area to its normal state.

The 2016 and 2017 editions of the event were held in District 7 and District 2, respectively.
