A photo capturing an enchanting fishing moment in the central region of Vietnam has been awarded the second prize at the International Drone Photography Contest 2018.
Dronestagram, an aerial picture sharing site, last week announced the three winning photos of its annual drone photography contest.
Accordingly, the first winner of the International Drone Photography Contest 2018 was Zekedrone from the U.S., who captured a group of hippos wallowing in the mud in Tanzania.
Qliebin from Ukraine claimed the third prize for his photo “2 people, 2 dogs & 4 shadows” taken at Black Sea beach in the Ukrainian city of Odessa, while Pham Huy Trung from Vietnam was the runner-up for his photo “Fishing net in Vietnam.”
Trung’s photo was taken when fishermen on a fishing boat were dropping a net to catch a stream of silver anchovies, a specialty of the south-central Vietnamese province of Phu Yen, in May 2018.
Viewed from above, the net pulled out like a flower in the sea at that special moment.
In addition to “Fishing net in Vietnam,” Trung also submitted two other entries which picture a lobster farm in the Hon Yen coastal area in Phu Yen Province and a salt village in Ninh Hai Commune, located in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa.
The International Drone Photography Contest, now in its fifth year and run by Dronestagram, had received thousands of entries submitted from around the world by talented professional photographers and amateur drone photo enthusiasts.
Below are all stand-out entries of this year’s contest:
