It is now considered the best time of the year to visit Moc Chau District in the northern Vietnamese province of Son La, as many areas across the mountainous locality have been blanketed with the pure white color of blossoming plum flowers.
In the Moc Chau plateau, the plum blossoms signal the arrival of spring and the flowers are most beautiful between late January and mid-February every year.
As the blooms only last for about two to three weeks before being replaced by the fruits, visitors are flocking to the province to witness the unique and mesmerizing scenery.
Places that are ideal for such an activity include Van Ho, Long Luong, and Tan Lap Communes, as well as Thong Cuong, Phieng Canh, Ba Phach, and Ang Villages.
Moc Chau District is located about 200 kilometers west of Hanoi and at an altitude of 1,050 meters above sea level.

Visitors can travel to the location by catching a passenger bus at My Dinh Bus Station in the capital, with average fare costing VND160,000 (US$7).
Those who love a memorable and adventurous trip can travel by motorbike from Hanoi. However, temperatures may get quite low and fog may affect visibility along the journey.
