On July 9, American singer-songwriter Jesse McCartney will kick off the Asia leg of his “Resolution Tour” with a concert in Ho Chi Minh City.
During the Vietnam stop, called “Resolution Tour Vietnam”, the 32-year-old singer-songwriter is expected to serenade audience audiences with performances of his hits Beautiful Soul and Because You Live alongside new releases Wasted and Better with You.
As eagerly as fans are awaiting McCartney’s live performance of Bleeding Love, a single he wrote for British singer and X-Factor winner Leona Lewis’s debut album, it seems the pop star is equally excited to be performing in Vietnam.
“This is my first time in Ho Chi Minh City, so I can’t wait to taste Vietnamese food,” McCartney said in a statement, adding that he is a fan of Vietnamese cuisine and is eager to try true pho, the iconic Vietnamese beef rice noodle soup.
“Meeting my fans and trying Vietnamese food are two things I look forward to the most in this trip,” he explained.
McCartney started his musical career as a member of the band Dream Street in 2000.
In 2002, the singer cut ties with the group to start a solo career as both singer and songwriter.
He has so far released five studio albums, among which his debut record Beautiful Soul (2004) has sold over 1.5 million copies.
His other albums include Right When You Want Me (2006), Departure (2008), Have It All (2010), and most recently In Technicolor (2014).
He has also composed music for a number of films, lent his voice to several animated movie characters, and appeared in Disney shows Hannah Montana and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
Other stops on The Resolution Tour include Manila, Philippines on July 13 and Singapore on July 14.
McCartney’s concert will be the first in a series of live music performances hosted by the "Soul Live Project Series: Rock & Pop" in Ho Chi Minh City as part of its initiative to bring famous international pop and rock singers to Vietnam.
