Party leader welcomes Singaporean guest

Singapore always attaches importance to maintaining a comprehensive relationship with Vietnam and seeks to promote the partnership to a new level for the benefit of both countries.

Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean made the statement at a reception given by Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Secretariat, in Hanoi on August 28.

Teo Chee Hean, who is also Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, informed his host of the outcomes of his working session with the Public Security Ministry.

He said that he was pleased to see positive development in and benefits from the cooperative relationship between the countries in general and the CPV and the Singaporean People’s Action Party in particular.

For his part, Anh said he wanted the two countries to further boost cooperation in all aspects, including economics, trade and the judiciary.

He applauded the close cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Singapore ’s Ministry of Home Affairs, adding that the recently signed extended agreement on crime prevention will positively contribute to the mutually beneficial relationship.

Anh also briefed his guest of recent Vietnam’s socio-economic development, Party building work as well as the relations of the CPV with other political parties including the Singaporean People’s Action Party.
