Vietnam is keen to develop relations with China, looking to a fine and stable relationship for the sake of both peoples and for regional peace and development, said a Vietnamese high-ranking official. Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee chairman Nguyen Thien Nhan made the statement when he attended the second China-Vietnam Youth Gala on November 26 in Nanning City, the capital city of China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The event, which also saw the attendance of Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao, attracted nearly 10,000 youngsters of both countries. Addressing the event, Nhan affirmed Vietnam’s determination together with China to implement agreements reached by both sides’ high-ranking leaders, for the sake of both peoples and for regional and international peace, stability and prosperity. Nhan stressed that the festival was a good chance for the youngsters to recall the Vietnam-China traditional friendship and enliven sentiments between the two countries’ youths, contributing to promoting the ties between the two Parties, States and peoples.

He also said the two countries’ communist youth unions should step up their cooperation to consolidate the traditional friendship between young generations of both nations.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Vice President reiterated that the China-Vietnam relationship is a valuable property shared by the two peoples. He expressed his hope that both countries will always act as good neighbors and partners.

He also called on both sides’ young people to continue organizing activities to promote the traditional friendship and join hands in creating a bright future for the two countries.

Both sides considered Vietnam-China Youth Gala as a landmark for their peoples and youths, becoming a strong momentum for people-to-people exchanges in the time to come.

During the festival, Vietnamese youngsters joined in such activities as tree planting, painting, and writing calligraphy. Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping sent congratulatory letters to the event.
