Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping affirmed that China will expand its goods import from Vietnam and enhance traffic connectivity with its southern neighbor.

China will develop road, railway, and border gate systems to smooth traffic and transport to Vietnam, the top Chinese official told a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Tuesday, as part of the latter's visit to China from June 25 to 28.

China sees Vietnam as one of its diplomatic priorities and expects to continue deepening their partnership, Xi said.

China is willing to strengthen the relations between the two Parties and governments for long-lasting and sustainable development.

PM Chinh underscored that building a stable, sustainable, and long-standing partnership with China is always a key priority in Vietnam’s independent, self-defense, multilateral, and diverse foreign policy.

The Vietnamese government leader hoped that the two nations will shore up all-level delegation exchange and improve the quality and efficiency of collaboration in various fields.

The Vietnamese prime minister proposed China open its wider doors to Vietnamese farm produce, while creating favorable conditions for Vietnam to set up more trade promotion offices in China.

Vietnam always welcomes Chinese firms to do business in the Southeast Asian country, said PM Chinh.

Responding to PM Chinh’s proposals, Xi said that China is eager to maintain strategy exchange with Vietnam and bolster high-ranking delegation exchange between the two nations.

The top Chinese official expects to raise awareness of the close China – Vietnam friendship among young people, encouraging Vietnam to join China’s global innovation programs.

The two officials discussed multiple international issues, reaching a consensus on the settlement of disputes in a peaceful manner to guarantee stability and security at sea.

PM Chinh had a meeting with chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday.

The two expressed their pleasure at the achievements that have been made by the two Parties and nations over the past years.

PM Chinh expected Vietnam’s lawmaking National Assembly and China’s National People’s Congress to enhance their cooperation to contribute to cementing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China.

Vietnam and China are close neighbors, shouldering a mission of bringing happiness to their people and developing their nation, said the head of the National People’s Congress.
