More than 3,000 runners, including 40 foreigners, joined the first night-time running event in Nha Trang City of south-central Khanh Hoa Province on Saturday.
The Khanh Hoa Department of Culture and Sports coordinated with Khanh Hoa newspaper and other units to organize the Nha Trang Night Run Sanvinest-Khanh Hoa newspaper 2024.
With the message of “Spreading the love of sea and islands,” the running event included five- and 10-kilometer distances along coastal roads in Nha Trang City.

Le Hoang Trieu, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Khanh Hoa newspaper, said the running event was an interesting experience for runners nationwide.
This was also an opportunity to promote Khanh Hoa people’s beauty, vitality and hospitality to domestic and foreign visitors, thus boosting tourism and night-time economy in Khanh Hoa Province, Trieu added.

Nguyen Le Hoang Vu, 18, who won the men’s 10-kilometer distance, shared that he was happy to win the distance. Weather at night in Nha Trang was favorable for athletes to experience the night-time run.
The prize was a motivation for him to spread the sportsmanship to others, said Vu.
The organizer of the running event also raised funds for optic surgeries for disadvantaged people in Khanh Hoa Province.
