A Blood Donation Drive will be held by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (Incham) and the Red Cross Society of HCMC from 8:30 am to 12pm on Sunday (August 18th) at Ben Thanh Theater, located at 6 Mac Dinh Chi Street in District 1, HCMC.
Everyone, who is in good health, weighs at least 45 kg and is 18 years or older, is eligible to donate blood, according to the Red Cross Society of HCMC, benefactor Incham Blood Donation Drive 2013.
“At every moment, someone in distress needs blood. She or he may be a cancer patient, someone who needs the vital fluid after childbirth or surgery, or a victim of an accident. Unfortunately, many such patients are not lucky to receive blood in time, with potentially fatal consequences,” said Incham.
“Therefore, via this campaign, Incham is trying to contribute their bit and to spread the positive message to donate blood.”
Donating blood is a social responsibility, a healthy practice and a profound gesture, wherein one can make a difference between life and death.
Furthermore, donating blood has been proven to bring many health benefits such as the reduction in heart attack rates and cholesterol levels.
Regular blood donations also reduce the risk of cancer. Moreover, it also offers the donors a chance for a free health screening and blood testing for some major maladies, which are potentially fatal.
Every donor will receive a Donor Card which undertakes them to get an equal amount of blood donated for free of any charges in a situation where the donor needs it. This card does not have any time limitation.
For this meaningful activity, Incham and the Red Cross Society of HCMC request everybody to make this important humanitarian initiative a great success by participating yourself and persuading colleagues, friends and family to donate blood.
