-- The Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital in the central region reported a surge in the number of kids who come down with illnesses associated with the sultry hot weather which has lingered in the past several days. The hospital receives up to 1,000 kids on peak days, up by almost 40 percent compared to normal days.
-- Nguyen Hai Ninh, deputy chair of the Dak Lak People’s Committee in the Central Highlands, announced on Saturday that the committee has removed some advertising signs erected by Trung Nguyen Group, one of Vietnam’s leading coffee producers, for their inappropriate wording which may cause misunderstanding.

-- Le Hong Ha, CEO of budget carrier Jetstar Pacific, said the company will launch two direct air routes from Hanoi to Da Lat resort city in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong; and from Hanoi to Phu Quoc Island, which boasts heavenly beaches, in Kien Giang Province in the Mekong Delta, starting Monday.
-- The People’s Committee of Lang Son Province in the northern region has recently worked with the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the implementation of a project to build an entrepôt which belongs to the Dong Dang-Lang Son Economic Zone in a bid to ease produce logjams. The project, approved in 2009, will see the construction of the entrepôt on a 143-hectare plot in Cao Loc District.
