​Two die in head-on crash involving sleeper bus in south-central Vietnam

A sleeper bus collided head-on with a trailer truck in south-central Vietnam on Saturday, killing two and injuring several others.

The passenger bus is operated by Cuc Tung Buslines, which runs shuttle buses between Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang and Da Nang.

According to local traffic police, the accident happened around 4:10 pm on a leg of National Route 1A crossing Tan Duc Commune in Ham Tan District, Binh Thuan Province.

The Cuc Tung bus, bound for Ho Chi Minh City, was reportedly involved in a head-on collision with a trailer truck moving in the opposite direction.

The violent crash threw the Cuc Tung vehicle to the roadside, killing two passengers on the spot.

Several others on the sleeper bus suffered severe injuries and were rushed to hospital.

As of 5:30 pm the same day, scene investigation was still underway.
