One person was killed and seven others injured in a multiple-vehicle crash involving a trailer tractor, a pickup truck, three automobiles, and two motorbikes in the north-central Vietnamese province of Thanh Hoa on Sunday morning.
The accident occurred on a section of National Highway 1A in Quang Tan Commune, Quang Xuong District at around 7:00 am, according to the provincial traffic police division.
Preliminary information showed that a trailer truck first rear-ended a pickup truck before slamming into the median strip.

The trailer truck then hit two motorcycles traveling in the opposite direction and only stopped after crashing into a house at the side of the highway.
Meanwhile, after being hit by the tractor trailer, the pickup truck also collided with three other automobiles running in the same direction.

Among them, three victims on the two motorbikes needed emergency treatment due to their serious injuries.
At the crash site, the trailer truck was on its side, while its cabin was heavily distorted. The other vehicles were also severely damaged.
The porch of the house collapsed following the accident.
It was raining on Sunday morning, making the roadway wet and slippery.
